Reviled as the "Most Hated AE in History," we all think twice before crossing Kati Parrish. She's put the hurt on many of us who have innocently tracked mud on her office carpet or "accidentally" kicked her dog (you know who you are). Luckily, she channeled that energy into a solid addition to the blog series.

I follow PJA on twitter and I read their blog - pretty cool and informative advertising topics.  Take a sec and check out their website, Twitter handle, Flickr account. They're into all sorts of social media endeavors plus they have a pretty good blog.

We affectionately call him "Oatmeal," but Brandon Radford's anything but gummy and bland. He's like a premium bowl of the stuff, sprinkled generously with brown sugar, golden raisins, butter and pecans. Anywho, he brings us our latest installment in the Blogs blog.

Juxtapoz
Art. Culture. Nuf said. "Reader Art" section is very inspiring.

One half of the mafia influence here at CurrentMarketing, Angela Trumbaturi could tell us about her favorite site, but she'd have to kill us. So, she told us about her second favorite site.

Scott Monty's "The Social Media Marketing Blog" is my favorite.

Kind of a blah title, but I find it very informative and enjoy reading it because it is written by Scott Monty, head of SM for Ford Motor Company. A lot of SM exec blogs are written by those with no real hands-on experience, but Scott has to deal with SM issues for a very traditional client on a day-to-day basis. So I enjoy reading his take on things.

A champion "WOOHOO"-er and karaoke star, Allison Gibson brings us Tuesday's batch of bloggy goodness. And it's better than any cake you could bake!

Her take:

I use my DVR, but Hulu has been the best place for me to catch up on my shows even while lying in bed with my headphones on.

I am a "Must See TV" junkie now, all thanks to Hulu. I especially love how they treat their sponsored commerical breaks. I think they are tastefully done and advertisers really have the ability to showcase their products in a clutter-free environment. I always pay attention to almost all commercials since I love advertising...naturally. Now I do more so on Hulu because of the the clean and elegant approach.

Our fearless Culture Queen, Lisa Koier, adds her two cents to the blog pot today. After winning big at the track last week, she was on a high and visited her favorite site...

AmericanExpress.com is a great tool for the COO. Okay, I know this is incredibly BORING of me and as the COO, I’ll accept that self-applied label. I like AmericanExpress.com and visit the site at least once a week. Fact is, it allows me to log on and see what purchases my employee cardholders are making BEFORE the bill comes—and we use our Amex cards for many, many items here at Current. There is an “Analyze Spending” tool” that tells me how we spend our money, from “Entertainment” and “Travel” to “Business Services” or technology-related purchases. I can make travel plans via the site and also convert points for gift cards that we use to thank our employees who do something above and beyond. And sometimes I even browse their shopping area to see what deals they have under Health & Beauty, Fashion and Electronics. Lots of perks with an American Express card.

Lindsay Trombatore, half Italian Stallion and half Tower of Power, graces us with Part 4 of our series. Lindsay recently publicly disclosed what she calls her "Italian religion," which we think involves some sort of shrine to Lucky Luciano she has hidden in the media office somewhere.

Her site of choice:

The Art of Non-Conformity
The writer responsible is Chris Guillebeau. I LOVE this site and read his articles every day. He writes about unconventional ways to live your life through work, travel, and self-exploration. At CurrentMarketing, we have a work environment that allows for unconventional ideas and this kind of exploration.
He also offers insight into social media, with recent articles like "Business Blogging and Broken Windows," "How to Conduct an Online Survey" and "Product Launch 101." For someone like me, who is still exploring social media styles, he provides good insight into making anything you do extraordinary--including advertising! Very intelligent, very passionate about life and loving the work you do! I would love to sit down over a cup of Joe and pick his brain. I'm sure he's got some killer stories too.

Today's delectable entree comes to us from James Deweese, aka "Jim Bag." Jim's our resident studio DJ (for those of you who don't know, that stands for disc jockey) and keeps us tapping our toes throughout the day. He tries to keep it a secret, but his favorite artist of all time is Hamilton, Joe Frank and Reynolds. We've got your number, Jimmy D.

His favorite site:

Photoshop Disasters
As someone who works in photoshop every day, it makes me not only laugh, but it makes feel good about my limited skills when I see these crimes against visual communication. And the best part is that these aren't always jobs by people who spend all day "designing" in MSWord and PowerPoint. Some of these are high-profile, high-budget jobs; movie posters, world-wide catalogs, magazine covers, etc.

Cathy Frick provides us with our second entry in the series. Simply put, Cathy's goal in life is to make all of us fat with her delicious homemade baked goods. Brownies, cookies, cakes, pies – they all made it hard for some of us to make a respectable stand in our form-fitting costumes last week.

Cathy shares her favorite site:

I like deke.com – it's the blog of Deke McClelland...a Photoshop guru. I haven't been keeping up with it lately as I should be, but I do get the podcasts and love the tips, tricks and overall humor he plugs into some of (what could be) the most mundane of information. There are so many capabilities of the Adobe programs that I feel I couldn't ever learn them all, but he is great at pointing out what you may actually be able to use and how to use it successfully.

Our first entry comes to us from long-time listener, first-time caller, Dennis Bonifer. Dennis, aka "Creative Crusader," recently donned a sweet black mustache to impersonate his child-hood idol Burt Reynolds at our annual Halloween soiree. Unfortunately, his costume was sadly incomplete as he was missing the quintessential monkey.

His site of choice:

I really like TheDieLine – it's a site that focuses on some of the best and latest package design. As we have brought more and more of this kind of work into our shop, it has become an excellent resource for what trends are happening within the industry. It has also served as a great source of inspiration, not only for package design, but countless other projects I am working on.
